- Peel and core the apples. Thinly slice into a 7 cups casserole.
- Dot with the butter, cover with a vented lid and cook 5-8 mins. The apples should be completely cooked.
- Beat with a wooden spoon until quite smooth.
- Sweeten if required.
Recipe Notes
Serve with pork dishes or sausages.Low calorie: Omit the butter. Use eating apples instead of cooking for a sweeter low calorie sauce. They may need a longer cooking time and pureeing in a processor for a smooth sauce.
